Sumisho Aero Engine Lease B.V., headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is a joint venture aircraft engine lease company between Japan-based Sumitomo Corporation and German-based MTU Aero Engine. Sumisho Aero Engine Lease B.V. is specializing in medium- to long-term leasing arrangements and engine financing solutions.
Sumitomo-MTU joint ventures
In early 2014, Sumisho Aero Engine Lease B.V. was set up as one of two new joint ventures between Sumitomo and MTU. Sumitomo Corporation has a 90-percent stake in Sumisho Aero Engine Lease and MTU has a remaining 10-percent stake. The second joint venture company, MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V., an 80/20 joint venture of MTU and Sumitomo is also located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and is providing customers with short-term lease solutions and associated services. These two joint ventures put Sumitomo and MTU in a position to offer their respective customers an even wider range of services.
